Ebook About Ry Archer and Bowe Keller are as different as night and day. That doesn’t mean they don’t share similar struggles. At the moment, both are realizing the reality of getting closer and closer to reaching their dreams and aspirations is very much not living up to all the hype. The childhood cohorts always seem to connect when one of them needs help figuring out any of life’s major puzzles, like figuring out why getting what you always thought you wanted isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. They might constantly rub each other the wrong way (except for when they rubbed each other really-really right), but there is no denying they’ve always made one hell of a great team. For Ry, he thought he had the perfect girl, the one who was going to run headfirst into a meticulously and methodically planned future. He was going to marry young and have the same kind of legendary, life-long romance his parents did… or so he believed. His girl was going to stand by his side as he chased his dream of being a professional football player all the way to the NFL. He was wrong. Now, Ry’s gotta figure out the difference between a bruised heart and a broken one, and the only person who can teach him the difference is Bowe. Bowe always felt like she had to run before she learned to walk to keep up with her father’s musical legacy. He’s her hero, and she wants nothing more than to make him proud. Bowe’s about to figure out that maybe she wasn’t meant to be in a rock and roll band and that it is entirely possible she let her father’s dream and road to success cloud her own idea of what making music should be. Bowe needs to find her own way to fame, and there’s a good chance she wouldn’t be brave enough or bold enough to start over if Ry Archer hadn’t pushed his way back into her life when she least expected it. Some days they’re enemies. Some days they’re lovers. For a while, they were strangers. But now, it feels more like they might’ve always been soulmates. At the end of the day, both will realize that letting go of an old dream and creating a new one is much easier to do with the right person by your side.Book Fortunate Son: A 2nd-Gen Marked Men novel (The Forever Marked Series Book 1) Review :
Fortunate Son by Jay Crownover brings back the world of Marked Men/Saints of Denver series with the next generation finding love and themselves along the way. While you could read this as a stand alone, it was definitely written for us fans of the original crew, and it was everything I hoped it would be.Ry Archer and Bowe Keller butted heads and pushed each other buttons growing up. As young teens that ignited into more, but Ry's feelings scared him and caused him to pushed Bowe away. Two years later and Bowe is the one he turns to when he has his heart broken. Only to discover everything he thought he knew about himself was wrong, and Bowe has never stopped being the one he's meant for. But their animosity and distrust in each other cannot overwhelm the soul-deep connection they’ve always shared. It won't be easy, and he has wrongs to right, but anything worth having is worth fighting for. Will Bowe risk her heart again to the only man who ever held it, or will she meet him halfway for a relationship that has the potential to be everything.Omg I can't believe how much I absolutely loved Ry and all his hidden layers that Bowe brought out of him. Ry Archer appears to be a golden boy on the outside, but struggles endlessly to meet his parents expectations. He is only able to completely be himself with Bowe. She brings out not only the best parts of him but the worst. She challenges him while still finding ways to love the dark parts of him. He is Rule’s son through and through, building up so many emotions and struggling to express them.Bowe Keller was a great match for Ry and a strong character on her own. After the fall-out with Ry when they were young, she closed herself off and focused on her music dreams. She is living in the shadow of her famous father and wants to exceed the high expectations she has set for herself. This is her sole focus until Ry comes barreling back into her life and throws everything off balance. She decides how she wants her and Ry’s relationship to proceed and refuses to be on the back burner or allow her career to be stifled. She is empowered by their physical connection and as a reader it steams off the page *fans self*.Together, Ry and Bowe are explosive. They call each other out on their bull and help each other face their insecurities and fears. I was all in for the amount of honesty between them. I was also pleasantly surprised how mature they were for their age, there isn't any petty unnecessary drama you sometimes find with the straight out of high school age group. Technically this is New Adult because of the leads ages but intimate scenes were hot as sin. Ry and Bowe’s chemistry makes it easy for them to show through intimacy how much they meant to each other before the words felt safe.Returning to the world of Marked Men and Saints of Denver felt like coming home, a world where love conquers even the hardest obstacles. All the original couples are very present parents in their kids' lives. They were always such a tight-knit group, and they continued that and their kids are just as close. I am more than looking forward to more of the next generations getting their stories in the future. I have to admit I was a little uncertain before buying this book. The second book in a series somehow always disappoints me, so a series where we will see the kids of favorite characters it was a little nerve-racking. However, I took the leap and let me tell you that Jay Crownover does not disappoint 😌."Fortunate Son" is such a marvel. From the title to every plot twist all is perfect. There is the "going back to the roots" thread but improved (2.0). The characters we knew from the series "Marked Men" are there but they don't opaque the lives of their children. Honestly, it is just awesome. The connections in their lives to situations and characters from the past but how they manage them in their present, every each one of them it is a especial new character. I am glad I read the book, I couldn't stop reading! The twists and turns Ry and Bowe took are exciting. I loved it and I can say for sure this time I look forward for the rest of the books in this series, seems like we are for a hell of a ride with this offspring 😉.Disclaimer: this is not a critique, it just a comment of something I experienced before beginning to read the story. One thing I don't want to stop from mentioning because I felt hurt it was the foreword that JC wrote at the beginning of the book. I felt the "foreword" was unnecessary rude and confrontational. Jay, the last thing that I want to read is that kind of message just after I took the leap and grabbed the book to read it. Just by doing that it means I am trusting you like an author and I will roll with whatever you wrote no matter the books from the past series. Yes, we all have expectations but as a reader I never forget I don't dictate what you decide will happen in your stories because you're the creator and I respect that. I am sorry if in the past you had bad experiences and that influenced you too write that. Isn't all of that sometimes part of the job? You never say it better in this book when Jet is sharing with Bowe a little of his wisdom about being in the "business". I never thought on how these books, chronologically, were going to be in a "future" and of course I never expected a sci-fi novel because that's not what the marked men are about. I hope you take this comment with an open mind and understand it from my POV as a reader that took the leap, grabbed your book, and wants to enjoy what you wrote. The last thing on my mind when I grab a book is thinking that I will criticize every little detail, at least for me is not about that. I am a normal reader. I don't do reviews for a blog or have followers that wait to hear my opinion about the books I read.
